irish bread

Published May 27, 2006 by lisaolisa
360 gr. Wholemeal flour (You can find it in Trader’s Joe)
120 gr. Plain white flour
1 table spoon wheat germ
1 table spoon oatmeal (You can find this in Trader’s Joe as well)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg beaten
A pinch of salt
300 ml buttermilk (regular milk works as well)
Mix it together and bake it for 40 minutes at 400 F. You can brush some of the remaining of the egg on the top of the loaf before baking it. It will give it a nice warm color. Also, you want to cut a cross on the top of the loaf before baking it.
